In partnership with IBEC and the Technological University, Tallaght, Merck is seeking candidates for its Laboratory Apprenticeship programme. The laboratory apprenticeships lead to a Level 6 Higher Certificate in Science as a Laboratory Technician and a Level 7 Ordinary Bachelor of Science Degree as a Laboratory Analyst.

We are well placed to facilitate and mentor new aspiring talent and are offering candidates the opportunity to work at our approved API manufacturing site in Arklow, Co, Wicklow. During the term you would work three days per week, learning the job while spending two days per week with our education partner, Technological University, Tallaght.
This blended learning approach is highly effective and caters for all learning styles and preferences.
The programme is designed for those who wish to develop a career in the laboratory environment of Biopharmaceutical, Pharmaceutical, Chemical Manufacturing, Food and Drink, Medical Devices and Diagnostics and Analytical Testing Laboratory Sectors.
Entry Requirements: For entry into year 1 of the Level 7 Programme, applicants must have the following,
- Pass (Grade 06 or better) in five leaving certificate subjects, one of which must be maths and one science related subject.
- 250 CAO points Or
- Relevant FETAC Level 5 or Level 6 Graduate
- Be a current employee with relevant experience and qualifications
- A company Interview and Assessment
- A SOLAS apprentice approval
